Yesterday was an all around depressing day. Between lack of sleep, personal setbacks in my diet/exercise plans, the bitchiness of Mrs!-in-law, slow postal service, and frustratingly obtuse co-workers, yesterday was one Monday I could have slept through or just completely done without. Today made it all better (or at least bearable).
I ate like a pig over the weekend and ended up with a Monday weight higher than I've been in a while. I knew it was weekend weight that would drop quickly, but after a restless night of not enough sleep, it was a frustrating way to start the week. Add to this injury and equipment that are preventing me from getting back to the work out regimen that I wish I could have, and having both pointed out on Monday, and I was even more frustrated.
Then Mrs! called me at work and the bad news about her Father came from her sister because her Mother is too arrogant and bitchy to call. Mrs!-in-law is "so very hurt" that we've "left our religion" that she rarely speaks to Mrs! anymore. We are now the black sheep of the family, in spades. The woman can barely speak my name without it coming out like a curse. They literally have passed within 15-30 minutes of our house to visit my sister-in-law and didn't bother visiting us. In fact, they didn't even bother to tell us until after they had returned home. Yep, way to be loving and understanding.
To top it all off, I had sent BFF a birthday card with some gift cards in it last Thursday. As of yesterday they had not arrived. I was concerned that they might have been lost. I put BFF's address in both the to address and the return address. It wouldn't do well for Mrs! to discover I was sending BFF a birthday card/present. But when they didn't arrive over the weekend, I figured they would surely arrive Monday. They did not.
But they did arrive today. BFF was beyond happy and that makes me smile. Really big smile. So very happy to read the excitement in her texts and to know that she and her kids will enjoy the gift cards. I was so very happy to know how excited they all were. Made my day today.
Until next time,
